eCommerce Assistant

Atkinsons Bullion & Coins is an online retailer specialising in gold and silver bullion. We have ambitious plans to grow the size of the business over the next couple of years and to do this we are looking to build a strong, dynamic team with key capabilities and individual strengths to drive us forward.

Our mission is to be the UK’s number one online company for buying and selling bullion. With lots of new marketing activity in the pipeline, we want to ensure that the website is delivering an optimum customer journey and that we’re nurturing both customers and prospects. To do this, we’re looking for an ambitious, self-motivated eCommerce Assistant to join our growing team.

Tasks, duties & responsibilities:

  • Create new product listings for our e-commerce platform
  • Support with the management of the online product catalogue and content pages
  • Upload new content on homepages, blogs, etc.
  • Update product imagery, format/edit descriptions, ensure all relevant details and attributes are displayed, merchandise where required
  • Review site and amend anything that is not in line with brand guidelines
  • Ensure that all products are optimised for upselling and cross-selling opportunities on product pages to maximise sales
  • Ensure the site is optimised through regular site checks, ensuring products are displayed correctly
  • Monitoring product/service reviews
  • Provide support for the wider eCommerce team

Required Skills

  • 1+ years' experience in an eCommerce copywriting/content role
  • Excellent command of English with meticulous attention to detail and impeccable use of spelling and grammar
  • Strong proofreading and sub-editing skills
  • Good knowledge of e-commerce platforms
  • Basic image editing skills (Adobe Photoshop or similar)
  • Understanding of HTML & CSS
  • Able to communicate both verbally and written with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be able to deal with multiple tasks on a regular basis, to reach business requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of B2C

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics would be beneficial
  • Experience with Kentico or other eCommerce CMS
  • Good knowledge of Excel: to manipulate and understand data
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and how to apply them

eCommerce Executive

To do this we’re looking for an ambitious, self-motivated eCommerce Executive to join our growing team.

Tasks, duties & responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of the website, whilst helping to drive the overall ecommerce strategy in partnership with eCommerce Manager
  • Provide support for the eCommerce Manager with ad hoc on-site projects and web developments by putting briefs together and submitting tickets to the web development agency when necessary
  • Co-ordinate ongoing UX improvements and CRO activity, and feedback on results and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Regularly review the website and competitor websites to make improvement suggestions
  • Monitoring key site metrics including conversion rate, bounce rate, AOV, exit rates, traffic (new and returning) etc.
  • Liaise with relevant 3rd party agencies & providers to optimise paid search & SEO
  • Ensure best practice SEO through a well-optimised site
  • Monitor onsite search activity and implement improvements
  • Assist in the management of ecommerce content calendar for the website, liaising with wider team to ensure all banners, assets and copy are relevant, optimised and updated on time.
  • Communicating with relevant internal teams to ensure alignment and consistency across the platform

Required Skills

  • 3+ years' eCommerce experience
  • Highly analytical and driven by results
  • Be technically minded and keen to develop their role
  • Good understanding of HTML & CSS
  • Strong organisation skills: self-directed & capable of working effectively in a fast paced, exciting environment while juggling multiple projects
  • Good working knowledge of Google Analytics with commercial mindset and understanding of how to translate analytics into actions that will improve trading performance
  • Good knowledge of Excel, to manipulate and understand data
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to communicate both verbally and written with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be able to deal with multiple tasks on a regular basis, to reach business requirements
  • An intuitive grasp of brand with a ‘customer first’ approach

Desired Skills:

  • Additional language skills (French/Spanish/German/Italian)
  • Basic image editing skills (Adobe Photoshop or similar)
  • Experience with Kentico or other e-commerce CMS
